Transportation


*Bicycle

The most common means of transport on campus is bicycle. At the beginning of term you will find many roadside stalls selling bicycles. Your bicycle will be safe within apartment building compound but is not too safe elsewhere.

*Bus

Bus No.541,No.390,No.501,No.367,ect. passing by the campuses can take you to downtown. They are air-conditioned. The fare costs 2 or 3 Yuan and no change is given so you need to have the exact coins, or you can swipe your bus card. Seats are allocated on a first come basis. Pay attention to the bus schedule on the stop board.

Bus No.18(6:00-18:00), No.541(5:20-22:00)is destined for East Train Station and for the Affiliated Hospital of Medical School of Ningbo University(Ningbo No.3Hospital).

BusNo.371(6:00-20:50) for South Bus Station

Bus No.501(6:00-20:50) for Central Bus Station

Bus No.390(6:00-21:00) for Carrefour, Metro

Bus No.367(6:20-20:00) for Carrefour and the Southern Higher Education Zone (University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Zhejiang Wanli University, ect.)

Bus No.501,No.541,No.18 for around Tianyi Square(downtown)

*Taxis

It is charged according to the kilometers. It costs 10 yuan within 3.5 kilometers. The cost of a taxi back to the University from the city center is about 30 Yuan. Whenever you take a taxi, ask the driver to turn the meter on.

*Subway(Metro)

Two lines are open now, line one and line two.

Line 1 for Gulou,Tianyi Square (downtown)

Line 2 for Ningbo University, Waitan Bridge, Gulou, Chenghuangmiao, Ningbo Railway Station, Coach Terminal, Lishe International Airport

(Gulou station is the transfer station for line one).

*Shanghai

Ningbo is about 360 km from Shanghai.

By coach-3 hours(starting from South Bus Station, though Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge,every15-20minutes). The fares costs about 100 Yuan.

By High-Express Train(Gao Tie in Chinese)-around 2 hours. The fare costs about 150 Yuan.

*Hangzhou

Ningbo is about 160 km from Hangzhou, which is provincial capital of Zhejiang.

By coach-about 2 hours(highway, every 10-20minutes). About 55 Yuan.

By High-Express Train(Gao Tie in Chinese)-about 1 hours. About 75 Yuan.
