On June 8, Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson, Iceland’s Ambassador to China, and his entourages visited Ningbo University. Zhu Da, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, and Yao Juming, Vice President of the University, met with the guests in Anzhong Hall. Relevant persons in charge of the Party School Office and the International Office, etc. attended the meeting.
Zhu Da first expressed a warm welcome to Ambassador Gunnarsson on behalf of the University. After the brief introduction to Ningbo’s economic development, history and culture, Secretary Zhu Da described the basic development situations of Ningbo University, especially its international exchanges and cooperation and the development of the Northern Lights Confucius Institute in Iceland. During the meeting, Zhu Da expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Gunnarsson for his care and support for the Northern Lights Confucius Institute.
Ambassador Gunnarsson expressed his gratitude to Ningbo University for the warm reception. He stated that Ningbo is a beautiful coastal city, and the beautiful campus of Ningbo University has left a deep impression on him. He has great expectations for the development of Ningbo University. In this visit to Ningbo University, he also met his former Chinese teacher so that his wish for many years was realized. When talking about the Northern Lights Confucius Institute, he hoped that the Northern Lights Confucius Institute could become a window for more and more Icelanders to learn about China.
Before the meeting, Ambassador Gunnarsson visited the One-stop Service Hall for Teachers and Students and the University History Museum of Ningbo University.
